Biography: I am a senior studying Community Health and Africana at Tufts University studying, where I have been recognized for my academic achievement as a BLAST Scholar, Tisch Scholar, and an Africana Center Peer Leader. I also hold several leadership roles in the Black Students Union, the all-female step team (ENVY), and the African Dance Collective.

Last year, I studied abroad in Ghana at the University of Ghana in Accra, and I completed a summer internship there at e-commerce giant Jumia. I started out as a Business Development Associate but after identifying their marketing needs I also became their first Head of Public Relations. The following semester I studied abroad once again at University of Hong Kong. In total, I traveled to 8 different countries during my junior year.

This past summer, I was a Distribution Support and Operations Support Intern within Personal Lines Insurance Marketing at Liberty Mutual Insurance. In this role, I have expanded my scope and understanding of business and marketing. I have worked on large scale initiatives where I helped in the development and distribution of collateral. I was one of the key members working to develop program build out and execution in the prelaunch of a nationwide marketing initiatives while leveraging existing projects. Lastly, I participated in the management of existing processes with multiple stakeholders in programs. Most importantly, I continued to build my network while having fun and learning in a collaborative and forward thinking environment.

My interests lie in business and marketing, as they apply to the corporate and social sectors (particularly social equality and health. In the short term I want to build my problem solving, analytics, and project management abilities within the corporate world so I am looking for an environment that fosters creativity, innovation, collaboration, learning, and doing the right thing. In the long term, I hope to become a leader in Global Health and International Development and to collaborate across sectors to meet the world’s greatest challenges.
