Biography: My name is Lloyd Koh and I am Global Leadership Scholar studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Yale-NUS College in Singapore.
My parents did not have the privilege of attending college but they taught me the importance of being resourceful, having focus and working hard. I graduated from the School of the Arts with an Excellence Award in the IB Diploma, and I've honed my storytelling abilities by shooting commercials and documentaries around the world. Some of my most memorable experiences include a video journalism project in Montreal covering Cirque du Soleil’s latest show ‘Volta’ down by the Old Port, as well as directing a commercial for Singapore Airlines in Sydney. I have worked extensively with Singapore Press Holdings - Singapore's largest news agency, and have spearheaded content on national marketing campaigns for companies like G2000 as well as Nespresso.
During my two-year conscription, I rose the ranks to serve my nation as a Naval Officer, sailing across Asia and commanding a platoon of 40 men.
My exposure to the challenges of the marketing industry and the Naval enterprise have sparked a desire to understand how organisations work and thrive in an uncertain world. My foray into business has led me to become the club director of the Yale-NUS Consulting Group. As an associate consultant at Conjunct Consulting, I am also currently working on a brand-positioning project with one of the largest charities in Singapore.
I am looking for further opportunities in business development and marketing. In the long term, I would like to undertake an MBA programme to enable myself to make an impact at the highest levels of business for the betterment of my community.
