Working in the risk management and security sector for the last 14 years, Claire has accumulated experience across the Middle East, Asia and Africa. She specialized in designing and delivering security solutions in post-conflict and non-permissive environments, thereby creating a safer space for reconstruction and peacebuilding projects. She spent two years living in Iraq during the war and has been travelling to Africa and Afghanistan since 2005.  Since 2013 Claire has been directing the European division of Hart Security, headquartered in London, and is the account owner for all Government business.

Since January 2017 Claire has been working with the UK Government.  Seconded to the Office for Security and Counter-Terrorism (OSCT), Claire provides security industry expertise to the Joint Security and Resilience Centre (JSaRC).  JSaRC is a cross-Government unit charged with delivering a joint response to the UK’s security challenges.  As a key member of the Joint Response Team, Claire is involved in a number of exciting projects in both serious organised crime (SOC) and counter terrorism (CT).

Claire reads political science and gained an MSc in International Security and Global Governance. Her particular interest is emerging trends and tensions as the for-profit sector becomes ever more active in traditionally humanitarian spaces.  She is also an avid supporter of promoting women in leadership.
