Biography: My name is Aleksander and I am a Mathematics and Statistics undergraduate at the LSE. Since high school, my interests have been centered around trying to understand what are the most efficient ways of increasing the wealth of society. I started studying economics with the aim of understanding the impressive effects of economic and political transformation on increasing the standard of living I observed while growing up in early 00’ in Poland. Exploring economics with business and finance further led me to becoming the laureate of the Polish Economic Olympiad and then an intern at the Polish Embassy in Beijing. Throughout the way my interests have shifted to business, technology, entertainment and European politics. In the short term I would like to pursue a career in entrepreneurship, but in the long term I am interested in working at an international organisation such as the EU or the UN. I hope my studies will enable me to use advanced data analysis tools to help in managing an acute social problem such as growing inequalities or climate change.
